Donations for a home that takes care of destitute pregnant women can be dropped off at a Claremont laundromat.
The donated items will be sold in Mater Domini’s second-hand shop, which helps fund the home.
“When we heard about what Mater Domini do and that they financed their work in part by running a second-hand shop, it was a natural fit for us to help them collect items to resell,” said Crisp and Clean manager Dylan James.
Mater Domini board chairperson Bernadette Ross said the home had opened in September 2007 for pregnant women in crisis.
“This crisis can be linked to any trauma, be it abandonment, abuse, violence, illness, mental health, or destitution.”
Ms Ross said the home helped the women build their confidence and skills to re-establish independent living.
“We are thankful for the opportunity that Clean and Crisp Claremont have offered us and look forward to receiving the first load of items for our shop,” she said.
Items can be dropped in a bin at the front of the laundromat.
“We will clean items before they head to Mater Domini’s shop,” said Mr James.
