July 4 celebrations

Regarded by some as the “Mother Road” of America, the 3 940km from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California, was one of the original routes within the American highway system and was established on November 11, 1926. Other gems of American culture were on display at the festivities, including Budweiser, Jack Daniels, Harley Davidson, Hershey delights and corn dogs. The consulate held the celebration on Wednesday June 20, so staff could take July 4 off.
