Pianist Daniel Ciobanu, from Romania, will open the Cape Town Concert Series recital series on Saturday February 25, at the Baxter Concert Hall, at 8pm. Ciobanu will play a programme of works by Silvestri; Chopin, including the Polonaise Brillante; Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky; Enescu, Medtner and Prokofiev. He was the winner of the first prize and special prize for best Classical Sonata at the last UNISA International Piano Competition in Pretoria. Tickets cost R150. Book through Computicket.
