Harlyn Neighbourhood Watch member Elmarie Raubenheimer won the “mobiliser of the year” award at the City of Cape Town’s annual neighbourhood watch awards ceremony, held at the Civic Centre, on Saturday November 12.
Ms Raubenheimer, of Lynfrae, thanked the City as well as the Harfield Village and Lynfrae communities for their support.
“As a mobiliser, I act as a liaison between victims of crime, patrollers, Claremont police, and the rest of the community, getting footage and statements,” she said.
Her award was one of many individual category awards. The award for neighbourhood watch group of the year went to Strand Neighbourhood Watch.
Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith presented Ms Raubenheimer with her award.
