Toufeeq Baatjies aka BBoy Toufeeq, 23, one of the top breakdancers in Cape Town, was crowned the Indian Ocean Breakdance Championship winner at the weekend. The competition was held online with contestants having to strut their stuff via a Skype video call. Understandably, he needed a bit of space to impress the judges. But, with all indoor facilities under lockdown, he had to settle for his driveway. He’s been breakdancing for 13 years and is no stranger to international competition, having battled with the best of the best across the country and abroad. He recently returned home after a two-year tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
