Schools athletics in full swing

It’s that time of the year when schools across the city compete in their annual athletics competitions. With limited venues available, Vygieskraal in Athlone and Green Point Stadium played host to the False Bay, Southern Suburbs and Table Bay zonal meets.

Sans Souci Girls’ High School’s under-14 relay team impressed at the Table Bay Zone Section A high schools’ athletics meet, held at Green Point Stadium, earlier this week. From left, are Simthandile Julies, Exorce Pedro, Joyce Bonguende and Helena Adams. Other schools who competed at the event are Alexander Sinton, Bloubergrant, Camps Bay, Crystal, Groote Schuur and Heideveld high schools. This weekend, winners from the various sectional meets will compete at the zonal championships, at Vygieskraal, in Athlone.
