Talking Heads Toastmasters is sponsoring a youth leadership programme at TSIBA (Tertiary School in Business Administration) in Pinelands on Saturday mornings. The programme is a Toastmasters International-based workshop, consisting of eight two-hour sessions, that enables participants to develop communication and leadership skills through practical experience. Participants learn to evaluate their current speaking ability, organise and give speeches, give impromptu talks, control their voice, vocabulary and gestures as well as give constructive feedback. Leadership skills are also taught in the workshop. Pictured are the speakers who gave a five to seven minute speech last Saturday: At back, from left, are Khakha Ntlonze, from Nyanga, and Rafeeq Goliath, from Surrey Estate. In front are Courtney Petersen, from Mitchell’s Plain; Caron Olivier, from Bonteheuwel; and Likopo Seleso, from Langa.
