It was an unforgettable day at Salesian Life Choices (SLC) in Lansdowne and Oaklands High in Kenwyn, when actress Charlize Theron and comedian Trevor Noah visited on Monday August 14. The stars were accompanied by a group of visitors which included Hollywood stars Chelsea Handler, Mary McCormack and Ms Theron’s mom Gerda. Ms Theron has been a funder of SLC, which provides educational, health, job and family stability services to youth in Cape Town, for a number of years through her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) and she was full of praise for the work that the organisation does with youth from the Cape Flats. The group visited the SLC offices and then moved on to Oaklands High School for a “Straight Talks” session with Grade 9 pupils before heading to a mobile clinic in Langa that provides youth-friendly HIV counselling and testing as part of the Health4Life programme.
