This was one of two events held last week by Child safety advocacy organisation, ChildSafe.
The other event was held last Friday at KuyaKhanya Primary School in Crossroads.
Last week was also Global Road Safety Week and ChildSafe’s programme marks the organisation’s involvement in the UN’s Speak Up to Save Lives road safety
campaign, with the hashtag #SpeakUP Yolande Baker, ChildSafe executive director, said many road deaths and injuries could be prevented.
“This protest is a powerful way to remind decision-makers that they bear a profound responsibility towards keeping children safe as road users.”
Children had a right to travel safely to and from school, she said.
