Around 230 representatives of 150 non-profits and civil society groups met in Woodstock last Tuesday to share their expertise on good governance and strategies for sustainability. The fourth annual #ThinkGood was held at Inyathelo: The South African Institute for Advancement in Woodstock. This event, which is in its fourth year, was coordinated on behalf of the NPO Service Providers Network by C Masters Development Services (CMDS), financial management consultants to the non-profit sector. Felicity Weekes, CMDS operations manager, said: “We were fully booked within three days, with another 56 organisations on the waiting list. We thank the organisers and participants, all of whom shared their expertise at no cost.”The day-long programme covered topics such as social media to support fundraising; financial sustainability through investments; financial management and compliance; and data security. Inyathelo operations director Feryal Domingo said: “The centre was bustling with activity and it was a wonderful opportunity to network and build up skills.”
