We have come to the end of a successful election.
A large measure of this success must be put at the door of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). Their staff were competent, well trained and in greater numbers than previously.
They facilitated better control outside the stations.
The presiding officers were well prepared, professional and settled all disputes and glitches with skill and diligence, preventing any chance of escalation.
Finally, the IEC managers for our ward visited each voting district station regularly and were instrumental in ensuring that all equipment was in good order and that the election process went smoothly, was fair and efficient.
This makes voting something to look forward to.
