More than 4 000 people attended the Western Province Chinese Association’s third annual food fair, in Observatory, on Sunday October 7. The food fair included children’s games, food demonstrations, Peking duck wraps and a wide variety of other Chinese foods. There were food demonstrations done by Ming Cheau Lin, author of the new book, Just Add Rice, and chef Robert Ting Chong. Patrick Chong, the association’s chairman, said it had been a day “when Cape Town got to experience how a very small community of less than 3 000 can host a large gathering by just working together. Can’t wait for next year”.
