Smoke filled the air in Woodstock on Sunday April 9 as a car went up in flames near the Roodebloem Road turn-off on Nelson Mandela Boulevard. The City’s Fire and Rescue Service responded, with a fire engine and a water tanker being dispatched from Roeland Street Fire Station to douse the flames. “As a result of the fire, three lanes were closed for traffic. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this stage. No injuries were reported,” said Fire and Rescue Service administrative officer, Liezl Moodie.
