Eleven people were injured this morning, Thursday July 28, after a taxi rear-ended a light motor vehicle on the M3 in Claremont.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 7.30am and found that both the taxi and light motor vehicle had already pulled over and stopped at the petrol station, said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.
Paramedics and Metro services began to triage the patients, finding that 11 of the 17 occupants of the taxi had been injured, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to a nearby provincial hospital for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are subject to the investigation of local authorities.
