I always feel agitated when people complain about Groote Schuur Hospital and they don’t like their food and services. And they are the very same people who cannot afford private medical care, and they end up at Groote Schuur. I beg to differ.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the brilliant doctors and all staff at Groote Schuur Hospital for the amazing work that they are doing and for all their kindness and compassion. I was at the hospital for surgery back in 2018 and things are only getting better. I was admitted on Wednesday August 21 and had small surgery done on Thursday August 22.
In my five days stay in hospital, I could see how committed, thorough and dedicated those doctors and nurses are to all patients.
The medical care and services rendered are professional. The best care is given to all patients all day long. The hospital is clean and spotless. I enjoyed the healthy foods served all day.
People should know that the hospital offers five-star treatment and how the staff go the extra mile and make patients feel like people and not scientific objects.
They are compassionate and work long hours. They work innovatively and also doing robotic surgery. The doctors would not discharge a patient until they are 100% sure the patient is good to go.
Special thanks go out to the team in the hospital’s department of obstetrics and gynaecology. I would also like to thank Dr Kendall Brouard, Dr Lamees Ras, Dr Khadija Kadwa, Dr Rendane Mboko and nurses Salma Basardien and Chermin Prince and then Sister Fatoema Moos, Sister Priscilla Valesco and Sister Ilse Eiman.
A big thumbs up and big thank you for our heritage hospital that serves the community at large, right across the Western Cape and further on.
