A Harfield Village man is appealing to the public to help him track down a stolen yellow rickshaw.
Lew Norgarb says the rickshaw was taken from his Second Avenue property business on Friday October 28, and a caretaker alerted him to the theft after 6am.
The lock on the garage door was broken and it looked like an attempt was made to take a second rickshaw as well, he said.
“The caretaker spotted the second rickshaw in the middle of the car park and the garage open. Clearly the intention was to steal both of them.”
Claremont police station commander Colonel Maree Louw said police were investigating, and there was CCTV footage of a male riding the rickshaw out of the yard. Additional footage suggested the rickshaw had been on its way to Grassy Park.
No arrests have been made.
Mr Norgarb said the rickshaw, which carries his company’s branding, was used to give children rides at community events.
