Rock-A-Fellas lifted the inaugural Mitchell’s Plain under-18 Youth Cup, following a 1-0 win, in a closely contested cup final match against Milano United, at Lentegeur sports field, on Sunday.
The Rocklands-based side overcame adversity after losing an arbitration case last week, that effectively put an end to their Coke Cup dreams.
Instead of drowning in sorrow, the young Fellas lifted their chins and the trophy, and pocketed R15 000 prize money at the weekend.
The tournament marked the return of sporting activity to Lentegeur, after a seven-year absence at the venue which had been plagued by neglect and the threat of land invasion in recent times.
