Zara Nijzink-Laurie, left, a Grade 8 pupil at Rustenburg High School, represented South Africa at the Taiwan International Science Fair from Sunday January 28 to Friday February 2, and took home second prize in the behavioural and social sciences category. The Taiwan International Science Fair is an annual event in which pupils from over 23 countries and territories participate. Zara was selected to go to Taiwan thanks to her research into the barriers to the use of the menstrual cup among schoolgirls.
