An organisation that helps schoolgirls choose the right career and gives them scholarships to study further, held a fund-raiser in Claremont last week. Zandile Matutu and Shannon Scrimgeour, both recipients of Link to Grow’s scholarships, spoke at the “When Fashion and Charity Meet” fund-raiser about how they had benefited from the non-profit’s support. Ms Matutu was the first recipient of the Link to Grow scholarship in 2013, and she recently graduated in chemical engineering at UCT. Ms Scrimgeour is studying music at UCT. Fashion consultant Julie Ranzani gave a workshop at the fund-raiser showing the 50-odd guests the
latest summer trends and how to revitalise their wardrobes.
