The green-waste transfer station at Beach Road, Woodstock, is not processing the waste that is being dropped off there.
The site is almost full with green waste. In a few days, it will not be possible to enter the site, because of all of the branches.
The City’s green-waste transfer site at Woodstock was a boon to the City Bowl, as it enables gardeners and small contractors to drop their garden waste off within a few kilometres of their homes. It is an added bonus that plant material that would have gone to waste and filled up the refuse landfill sites, is converted to compost.
The win-win situation is made even better as these strategically located sites lessen illegal dumping. However the site at Woodstock is useless unless it is serviced.
