Two people were arrested in a Saturday morning drug bust in Claremont on Saturday June 2.
Colonel Maree Louw, of Claremont police station said they confiscated “magic mushrooms”, dagga, dagga plants, dagga cookies as well as a notebook that showed how much customers paid or owed for drugs.
The man and woman, both in their early twenties, appeared in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday June 4.
Claremont police also arrested a man in his 20s for dealing drugs at Access Park in Kenilworth after security staff noticed the man acting suspiciously.
“I went after the man who was in a rush and escorted him to our security office. Upon searching him, I discovered that he was in possession of a substantial amount of tik,” said Access Park security manager, Bilal Sheik.
According to Claremont SAPS, the 300g of tik the man had on him had a street value of about R135 000.
When the man appeared in court, his case was postponed and he is being held in custody until his next appearance.
