The National Department of Education announced on Friday April 7 that Rustenburg Girls’ High School is South Africa’s top performing public school, based on the 2016 NSC Results.
It was a proud moment for the Western Cape as three of the province’s schools – the other two being Westerford and Bloemhof high schools – took the top three places in the category for quintile five schools.
“I am tremendously pleased with the 2016 NSC results. It is hard work, determination and a disciplined approach to their studies that have helped our girls achieve this top place in the country. I am extremely proud of our girls and conscientious staff ensuring Rustenburg the number one spot in the country,” “said Rustenberg Girls’ High school principal, Michael Gates. “Being the principal of the top public school in the country is an honour and we hope to maintain these high academic standards.”
