The South African College of Music will present its final symphony concert of the year on Tuesday October 23 in the Baxter Concert Hall, at 7.30pm.
The concert features internationally acclaimed Russian violinist Farida Bacharova, who will perform Thomas Rajna’s Violin Concert in honour of the composer, who celebrates his 90th birthday in December.
Also on the programme will be Unanswered Question by Ives, and Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov. The concert is conducted by Alexander Fokkens.
The UCT Symphony Orchestra is raising funds to go on tour. Tickets cost R100, R55 for pupils and R75 for senior citizens and students. Book through Webtickets or buy tickets at the door.
