Fatima Agherdien, from Salt River, celebrated her 90th birthday on Monday March 6. She was born in 1927, and raised in Kimberley, where she married Isgaak Agherdien.
While Cape Town was their home, they also lived in Zambia and Botswana. Ms Agherdien is well travelled, loves reading and has a particular interest in civic matters.
She often attends Salt River Ratepayers’ Association meetings.
She has lived in her mother’s house, named the Oak Villa, for more than 40 years, and she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, son-in-law, and two granddaughters.
“It is truly by the grace of God that I am able to reach this age,” she said.
