Zaid Booley holds a trophy he won from his athletic races in the tri-school tournament.

Grade 5 Cecil Road Primary star athlete Zaid Booley is heading off to Manchester, England next month to participate in the UK’s leading Easter youth football tournament.

Teams from around the world will perform in front of English Premier League scouts.

His mum, Rafiqa Booley, will be taking Zaid overseas for the tournament.

Zaid competed in a tri-school athletic tournament at the end of February against the Wesley Practising School and Dryden Street Primary, winning the under-11 80m and 100m races.

Principal Shahied Matthews said, “Our school is very proud of this boy, who despite his achievements remains humble, a quality that is admired above all. Academically, he is doing very well.”
