On Monday September 9, Cannons Creek High School pupils held a silent protest against gender-based violence outside their school. Last Friday, September 6, the school staff and pupils wrapped their fence in black fabric and painted the word, “Enough,” to show their solidarity in opposing violence against women and children.

Livingstone High School teachers held a placard demonstration last Thursday outside the Clareinch post office, where Uyinene Mrwetyana was raped and murdered. Meanwhile pupils stood in the school grounds against the fence to show their placards. School teacher Alison Titus said :Our struggle for the end of gender-based violence will continue until children and women can walk freely and enjoy the freedom we struggled for, said Ms Titus.
Pupils of Batavia School of Skills held up placards against gender-based violence along Imam Haron Road. The school held a special assembly last Friday in memory of women who had been murdered.
The St Agnes Primary School teachers and pupils stood together last Thursday September 5 to say no to gender-based violence. The teachers held up placards on the corner of Dublin Street and Albert Road, Woodstock, while the boys at the school made a chain around the girls, chanting: Boys dont hurt girls. Boys protect girls.
