Rosmead Junior School got an early start to Arbor Week with the planting of indigenous trees last Thursday. Arbor Week is in the first week of September in South Africa, but Danie van Jaarsveld, the superintendent of the City’s recreation and parks department, thought it would be a good idea to start planting at the beginning of winter when rainfall is more plentiful. Mr Van Jaarsveld and his team planted two trichilia emetica trees.
