The Wesley Practising School pupils won gold in the novice category in the 021 Best Dance Crew competition for schools at CPUT campus in Bellville, on Saturday. The Salt River school’s 10-member dance troupe, 2nd Break, made up of Grade 6s and 7s, competed against six other schools in their category. They were coached by Wesly Bosch who volunteers at the school.

Taybah Isaacs, Jenna Hutchinson, Amelie Bennet, Arielle Denis and Abby Macdonald from Micklefield School showing off the Keys to Heaven Trophy, which the school won for having the most diplomas in the Cape Town Essay Writing Eisteddfod. Taybah and Abby were joint winners in the Best Essay category, Arielle won the Best Poem category and Jenna came second for her poem. Amelie was awarded for Best Novella.
