School gets new AstroTurf playground

The ribbon-cutting ceremony at Rosmead Central Primary School was attended by pupils, school staff, members of the Harfield Village Association and corporate donors.

Rosmead Central Primary School in Claremont celebrated the opening of its new AstroTurf playground last Wednesday, March 6.

It will be used by Grade R pupils who had previously had to make do with a concrete playground.

It was made possible by donations from two corporations that
worked with the Grow Africa Foundation and the Harfield Village Association.

Grow Africa Foundation spokesperson, Ella Kabambe said: “The project was a wonderful example of a community working together with
a common purpose to provide a bright and positive environment for education and early child development.”

Six months ago, Harfield Village Association with help from a non-profit, Uthando South Africa, and businesses – upgraded the school’s sports field.
