Rosmead Central Primary School in Claremont celebrated the opening of its new AstroTurf playground last Wednesday, March 6.
It will be used by Grade R pupils who had previously had to make do with a concrete playground.
It was made possible by donations from two corporations that
worked with the Grow Africa Foundation and the Harfield Village Association.
Grow Africa Foundation spokesperson, Ella Kabambe said: “The project was a wonderful example of a community working together with
a common purpose to provide a bright and positive environment for education and early child development.”
Six months ago, Harfield Village Association with help from a non-profit, Uthando South Africa, and businesses – upgraded the school’s sports field.
