Claremont station commander and Col, Marie Louw and her management say the number of reports relating to car break-ins have rapidly increased in the area. She wants to stress the public including both residents and visitors, not to leave valuables lying around in their vehicles unattended as it makes their vehicles targets.
She says although there are various contributing factors that lead to break-ins,criminals do not only look to steal cell phones and laptops anymore, they also take sunglasses and pieces of clothing.
Vehicles with visibility of the above mentioned items and more, are prone to break-ins.
