Rustenburg Girls’ High Schools under-16A team won the Peninsula Girls’ Schools Games Union (PGSGU) trophy at the netball inter-school tournament at the school on Friday August 25 and Saturday 26.
The tournament consists of six girls’ schools – Herschel, Rustenburg, Sans Souci, Springfield, St Cyprians and Wynberg Girls.
It’s been 13 years since Rustenburg won the trophy in 2004 so they were ecstatic with their accomplishment.
“This has been a tough season and the girls pulled out all the stops, with a strong show of character and incredible teamwork to win this tournament. We are very proud of their achievements,” said coach Nanette Olivier.
