Sunday October 1 marked the start of Transport Month, and saw a 5km section of Cape Town’s Main Road – between Observatory and Cape Town CBD – reserved for people, not cars, during the first Open Streets Main Road. Closed to motorised vehicles, it became an open space for pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders, wheelchair users and other non-motorised transport users to move in safety.
Several cyclists took advantage of the opportunity to drive down Main Road during the first Open Streets Main Road on Sunday October 1.
A magician on the corner of Plein Street and Victoria Road left the crowds speechless with mind-blowing tricks.
