Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands has appointed 27-year-old Boldwin Barlow as its new Executive Chef.
Boldwin, who was born and raised in Cape Town, has been with the hotel since 2015. He has been in the hospitality industry for 11 years.
He matriculated from De Kuilen High School in 2009. He went on to study at the Stellenbosch Klapmuts at the Hurst Company, formally known as The Culinary Academy, where he obtained a three-year merit diploma in Advanced Food and Wine.
“I started working at the Ambassador Hotel in Bantry Bay where I completed my six months training. I was then promoted to Commis Chef once I had graduated,” says Boldwin.
The father of one says he comes from a family of foodies.
“My mom, grandmother and uncle’s extensive love and interest in food led me to this industry.”
On his new role at Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands, Boldwin plans to showcase his traditional home style cooking and create real hearty dishes.
His goal for the next five years is to gain more experience and to develop new skills and styles.Â
