Business owner, Samantha Adams, 35, from Athlone released her new book titled, Justice for a Warrior.
Around 40 guests attended her book launch on Saturday June 29 at a Rondebosch restaurant.
Ms Adams, who is a former firefighter and paramedic teaches first aid training to children and adults, says her book Justice for a Warrior focuses on the different aspects as to “how you can find justice in yourself”.
She says justice can be found in different ways, whether it is through writing or speaking.
“It’s about making the readers understand that they can seek justice in any way, it does not have to be a court case,” she says.
Ms Adams who has been a survivor of abuse says there are many women out there who perhaps felt that if they did not lay a charge against the perpetrator that they did not get justice.
“My motivation for writing this book is to show women that I did lay a charge against the abuser, though my court case is not done, but I have justice, using my voice to get justice,” she says.
This is Ms Adams second book, following up from Warrior Outside, Chaos Within, released in 2022 in which she shared details of her life as a survivor of abuse.
Ms Adams says one of the inspirations come from being surrounded by “amazing” people.
“There is so much trauma and hate that many people may have encountered, though I realised that there is such a lot of amazing people out there and at the end of the day it is up to me, to decide on how to express myself, there is beauty in the world and it is all around you,” she says.
Currently Ms Adams has been working on a children’s book, for which the release details will be made available later.
