A Bellville musician has written a song to raise money for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
Jimm Harisson Project lead singer, Jan-Hendrik Fourie, wrote the lyrics to the track Amen in May. The band and other musos – Mark Haze, Johan “Fatman” Brummer, Almarie du Preez, Gerry Liberty, a capella group 8 Misses Croon and Deon Meiring — collaborated on a music video at Woodstock’s Roodebloem Studio.
It was released on YouTube at the beginning of September and some of the hospital’s young patients can be seen in it.
In July last year, Jan-Hendrik and 8 Misses Croon performed in a benefit concert that raised R20 000 for Keanu Moore, 4, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer.
Pauline Solomons, of the Children’s Hospital Trust, says they were thrilled when they first heard of Jan-Hendrik’s plans.
“We are always grateful to partner with individuals, groups or clubs that want to make a difference in the lives of children who are less fortunate.”
They gave Jan-Hendrik and his band a tour of the hospital and showed them the plans for a new emergency centre.
Amen is available on iTunes, Spotify or Google Play. Search for “Jim Harisson Project en Vriende – Amen” to find the song on YouTube. SMS “Amen” to 40465 to donate R30.
