A man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured this morning after he was pulled beneath a train at the Salt River Train Station.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find Life Healthcare, Metro Rescue and Provincial EMS already in attendance.
The man was found lying next to the tracks. He was assessed and it was discovered that he had sustained a significant head injury and was in a critical condition.
He was treated for his injuries and was provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent treatment.
Police are investigating the matter further.
