Police are looking for a man who allegedly shot and wounded the friend of a prostitute he short-changed.
Goodwood police spokesman Captain Waynne Theunis said the woman claimed a man in a white Mercedes Benz had picked her up and offered to pay her R100 if she performed a sexual act on him.
“The lady informed the police that the man only paid her R20 after she did what he asked for,” said Captain Theunis.
When the man had dropped the woman off in Glen Street, Goodwood, she had seen a gun and a R100 note.
She had taken the money and jumped out of the car, but the man had grabbed the note back from her.
“While running, she heard five gunshots. The suspect missed her, but hit her friend who was sitting with other friends,” said Captain Theunis.
The 23-year-old man was hit in his right arm and left ankle.
Police found five spent 9mm cartridges at the scene.
The shooter was about 60 years old and had a number of rings on his one hand.
He allegedly told the woman he lived in Pinelands and was
a regular visitor to a local
casino.
