Police arrested a 28- year old man from Langa on Tuesday for robbing a house in Malleson Road, Mowbray.
Rondebosch police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lyndon Sisam said prompt action by Reservist Constable Andrew Barnes of Rondebosch police who monitored the licence plate recognition camera and alerted police of the suspect’s movements, led to the arrest after 3pm on Tuesday January 8. “The suspect was arrested by the Wynberg Cluster Crime Prevention team and is detained at Mowbray police station,” said Warrant Officer Sisam.
The suspect will be charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court this week.
