EDIT OUT THE METATEXT IN THE PIC – GH Three Rivers Girl Guide District members helped to clean, check and hand over hundreds of toys and books to educares and child safety institutions across the Western Cape in honour of Mandela Day. This year, Girl Guides Cape West Region celebrates its 90th anniversary and surpassed its target of collecting 900 toys. They assembled 2 108 donated toys from members, friends and family for their Mandela Day toy drive. Girl guides aged 4 to 7, called teddies, meet every Friday between 2pm and 3.30pm at the Rondebosch guide hall, in Alma Road. Those aged 7 to 10 are called brownies and meet from 4pm to 5.30pm. Both guides, aged 10 to 14, and rangers, aged 14 to 18, meet every Thursday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. They learn new skills including leadership, camping, knotting, first aid and fun in the outdoors.
