Guide dogs visit Cannons Creek

In front are volunteer Sheila Taylor with Dusti, regional marketing manager for the SA Guide-Dogs Association Jackie Quail with Sid and volunteer Helen Peach with Doug.

The SA Guide-Dogs Association visited Cannons Creek last Friday and the school donated R7000 to the organisation as part of its Mandela Day initiative.

Cannons Creek spokeswoman Deidre McCrindle said pupils learnt about the work the organisation does in breeding and raising guide dogs and they took part in various activities – including walking blindfolded around the school with a guide – to better understand the challenges faced by a blind person.
