An annual charity golf day raised R220 000 for Rondebosch’s Woodside Special Care Centre. Held at the Kuils River Golf Club on Thursday November 15, the day finished off with a gala dinner. The centre looks after people with more than one disability. Its marketing manager, Clive Obery, said the money would be used to help wards of the court – children aged between six and 12 – placed in the centre’s care by the state. “Many of the children in the programme have three to four disabilities and are unable to bathe, dress or feed themselves,” he said.
