Food parcels

The Cape Town Hindu Seva Samaj teamed up with the Lions Clubs of Athlone and Kirstenbosch and ward councillor Rashid Adams to distribute food parcels to those families returning home after their stay at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. The parcels were handed over at the Children’s Hospital on Wednesday April 22. The Cape Town Hindu Seva Samaj was the major contributor of the food parcels and the packing and distribution were done by the Athlone Lions Club. Twenty-five food parcels each have also been donated to St Francis Children’s Home in Athlone, Douglas Murray Home in Retreat, as well as to Cheshire Homes during lockdown. Those organisations also distributed food parcels to vulnerable families in Langa, Kewtown, Bokmakierie, Bridgetown, Alicedale, Pelican Park, Cravenby Estate, Rylands and Gatesville.
