During the festive season, refuse will continue to be collected on public holidays that fall on a weekday, the City said in a statement.
Residents are urged to place bins out by 6am for collection on Monday December 26, Tuesday December 27, and Monday January 2.
Drop-off facilities for recyclables, garage waste, garden greens and other accepted materials will only operate on certain days over the festive period.
On the Fridays of December 23 and December 30, drop-offs will close at 4.30pm.
On the Saturdays of December 24 and December 31, they will be open for the normal Saturday hours.
On Monday December 26, Tuesday December 27 and Monday January 2, they will follow the public-holiday schedule.
All facilities will be closed on Christmas Day, Sunday December 25, and New Year’s Day, Sunday January 1.
City staff are not allowed to accept Christmas boxes or donations, but residents are free to offer a token of gratitude for services provided during the year, the City said.
Reports of staff soliciting Christmas boxes would be investigated and disciplinary action taken, where residents were willing to testify, the City said, adding that the City would need at least a vehicle registration number and the date and time of the incident.
In some cases, opportunists posed as City staff to collect donations and residents should report such cases to the police, the City said.
