Woodstock police arrested a man and woman in their late 20s for a house break-in in Queens Park Avenue, last Monday January 27.
Homeowner Carolyn Borland says music equipment worth R15 000 was stolen from their garage around 2am.
Ms Borland says two homeless people who sleep in Trim Park across the road saw the two suspects walking off with the stolen merchandise. They gave a statement and description of the suspects to Woodstock police who made the arrests at around 8pm, on Monday.
Ms Borland says that the items were not recovered by the two suspects as they may have been sold already.
Colonel Alroy van der Berg from Woodstock police says the case is currently under investigation and the two suspects appeared in court last Wednesday, January 29.
Woodstock Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson, Youssef Kanouni, says the arrest shows how the community can work closely with the police to solve crimes.
