A drone retailer and repair centre in Woodstock was robbed on Monday June 10.
The DJI Drone Deals store in Albert Road, the first DJI Drone store to open in Africa, was robbed of an unknown quantity of merchandise around 11.30am.
Captain Frederick van Wyk, provincial police spokesperson, said four unknown men entered the business with two of them being armed. “The suspects instructed everyone to lie down on the ground and they then took several items from the shop and fled the scene in a red Golf GTI in an unknown direction,” he said.
Captain Van Wyk said no shots were fired and no injuries were reported during the incident.
An employee, who did not want to be named, said most of his colleagues were shaken up by the incident, though they are fine now.
He said dummy drones and laptops were stolen from the store. He could not confirm how much merchandise was stolen nor the actual value of the items.
