Two Tatler readers called our offices this week to inform us that a man wearing a white jacket and a cap has been knocking on doors in the Kenwyn and Lansdowne areas, soliciting donations for the funeral of a Tatler distributor – or two – apparently shot dead in Hanover Park – or Manenberg, depending on which version of the story you are told.
“One guy comes to your door and he has a car waiting. As soon as we said no, we don’t get the Tatler, he immediately ran to get in the vehicle,” a Lansdowne resident told us.
We can assure you that no Tatler distributors have been shot, that these men do not represent us and we urge you not to part with your money or to let them into your home.
