Students from UCT joined thousands of others from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and the University of the Western Cape to protest for no-fee tertiary education yesterday, Wednesday, October 26. Protesters gathered at CPUT’s Cape Town campus before marching to Parliament where Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan delivered his mid-term budget policy statement. At the campus, the huge crowd passed around a cardboard coffin suggesting the burial of Western Cape Premier Helen Zille, CPUT vice-chancellor Prins Nevhutalu and Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande.
