Three men, one with a gun, mugged a man and two women at a parking lot near Rhodes Memorial in the early hours of Sunday July 8.
The man and his two female companions were sitting in a car in the old zoo parking lot near the entrance to Rhodes Memorial, at 4.30am, when a white Hyundai with three men inside pulled up next to them.
According to Rondebosch police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lyndon Sisam, the muggers ordered the man and the women out of the
car.
They searched the vehicle and took the trio’s cellphones, watches and other valuables before driving off.
Police have warned those using the old zoo parking lot to be alert, lock their doors and not leave valuables in their vehicles, as it has been the scene of various crimes, including hijacking, car theft, theft from vehicles and armed robbery.
