Birding course
The Cape Bird club presents a half-day course at Rustenburg Girls’ Junior School, Main Road, Rondebosch, on Saturday November 3, from 9am until 1pm. The course will be on bushveld birding’ led by Faansie Peacock. It will cost R100 for members and R120 for non-members, discounts for pensioners and students. Bethany mini market
The Bethany Fellowship Church will have its monthly mini market at 225 Imam Haron Road, Claremont, on Saturday November 3, from 8am until 1pm. Liesbeek Community clean-up
The Friends of the Liesbeek will meet for the monthly river clean up in the parking lot in front of The Wild Fig in Obervatory, on Saturday November 3, from 8.30am until 3pm. They will be cleaning the stretch from the N2 to the River Club.We provide trash bags, but do remember to bring gloves and wear suitable shoes or boots. Flower walk
The Friends of Kenilworth Racecourse Conservation Area will have a morning flower walk at the Racecourse entrance on Wetton Road, on Sunday November 4, from 10am. The Conscious Living Fayre
The Conscious Living Fayre takes place at the Claremont community centre in Main Road on Sunday November 4, from 11am to 4pm. Cape Horticultural Society
The Cape Horticultural Society will host an illustrated talk, “Gardens of the USA” by Yvonne Reynolds at The Athenaeum, Boundary Terraces (next to WP Cricket Club), Campground Road on Monday November 5, at 8pm. Her talk, covering 10 gardens, will include Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Arnold Arboretum, Huntington gardens and Schreiner’s Iris gardens. No need to book. The cost is R20 for visitors.
